How many times have you heard girls say they want a guy that can dance? Why not take your date dancing at the Legend on Saturday nights.  They have a beginner lesson before the dance so you can learn some moves for the rest of the evening.  The music they spin consists of old time favorites like Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong and other big band hits from the 30s and 40s.  They always dim the lights when the dance starts, so it is awesome for those with two left feet. Another benefit of that is when you are not dancing, you can grab a table at the corner and chat with your date.  The music is not too loud like in a regular club, so you can actually hear each other and have a conversation. It is a perfect venue for second or third date.

This book gives you A LOT of ideas on how you can be romantic. In fact a total of 1001 ways! It is definitely a good source of ideas if you can't figure out what to do for important days like Valentine's day, birthday and Christmas. Also, gives you ideas on how you can be romantic with your boyfriend/girlfriend or husband/wife in day to day life. I actually think that is more important than just doing it on special occasion. Check it out!

Spot prawns festival @ Granville Island

I came across the spot prawns festival the other day. It is happening this coming Saturday, May 9 at the fisherman's wharf right outside Granville Island (besides Go Fish).  Weather forecast says it will be a nice day on Saturday.  So this will be a nice event to go with your date.  There should be some grassy area around the wharf.  So you can take a blanket, a bottle of wine and have a picnic outside.  Afterwards, you can have a stroll through the public market in Granville island.  There is something about doing grocery shopping together that is very warm and homey.

Libra Room

Libra room is located on commercial drive, close to a lot of different restaurants.  They have live jazz music 7 nights a week.  The room itself is dimly lit with candles on every table.  Makes it an excellent choice for either the starting or ending point of a romantic evening.  I really enjoyed the ambiance there.  The music was just the right volume you can still chat with your date while sipping on a drink.  They do serve food as well, although I don't know what the food quality is like.

(Picture above 'borrowed' from their web site.  I should really start taking my own pics)

Calling all romantics in Vancouver

Are there hopeless romantics out there in Vancouver?  A while ago, I was in need of romantic date ideas.   All I can find online was generic ideas on what to do, but nothing specific to Vancouver.  Is romance really dead in this day and age!?   Or people just don't like to share their ideas?!  My goal for this blog is to share my ideas and get some in return.  Hopefully, it will help a few guys out thereas well.  Cheers!
